On October 10th, Nova Medical School visited the Clodomiro Alvarenga Library – Forno do Tijolo Market, to provide a class to the students of the Senior Academy of Arroios, an initiative of Junta de Freguesia de Arroios.
In this session, the universal issue of Falls, which significantly impacts elderly communities worldwide, took center stage. The discussion delved into various dimensions of this theme, encompassing its Causes, Consequences, and placing a particular emphasis on Prevention. Open discussion moments fostered a reciprocal flow of insights. Attendees had their queries addressed by the lecturers, and simultaneously, researchers received valuable validation on various fronts, including the increasing adoption of new technologies by the elderly and issues related to miscommunication between healthcare professionals and patients.
