Discuss Facts and Myths About Vaccination
With the arrival of the cold seasons, we should talk about vaccionation. As the cold season approaches, members of the Lisbon_AHA Network gathered to address common myths and facts about vaccination. Bridging the generational gap, this initiative brought together fourth-year medical students from NOVA Medical School and adults aged 50+ for an open discussion on vaccination and its importance. The afternoon began with a stirring theatrical performance by the Drama Group from Academia Sénior de Arroios, addressing common fears surrounding vaccination in a way that was both humorous and serious. This was followed by a ‘breaking down myths’ session on vaccination led by medical students. Preventing Falls: The Role Of Physical Exercise
Two members of the Lisbon_AHA network joined forces once again for a unique event last week. Building on previous efforts, this time NOVA Medical School and Junta de Freguesia de Arroios, through Academia Sénior de Arroios, took the students outdoors. The initiative lasted about an hour and a half, and was led by a medical doctor (Prof. Dr. Ana Rodrigues), a physiotherapist (Alexandre Moniz), and a Tai Chi instructor (Carla Nunes). Participants engaged in a dynamic game blending theory and practice, guided by physiotherapist Alexandre Moniz, followed by a Tai Chi class, a regular in the Academia Sénior de Arroios schedule. The objective of this activity was to conclude the module on “Physical Exercise for Fall Prevention” previously addressed in a theoretical class, and demonstrate how physical exercise can be integrated into the daily lives of each participant. Driving innovation: the 4th LVT SDG Innovation Meeting
Lisbon_AHA and Nova Medical School were participants in the dynamic 4th meeting of the Network for Sustainable Development Goals Innovation in LVT, which convened 23 partners. Organized by CCDR-LVT, the event took place at SEIES – Sociedade de Estudos e Intervenção em Engenharia Social in Setubal. During the meeting, Lisbon_AHA seized the opportunity to present its project to the audience, fostering new connections and gaining insights into other initiatives within and beyond health and aging innovation. 4th LVT SDG Innovation Meeting at SEIES. Symposium “Longevity and Quality of Life: Emerging Challenges”
Yesterday, January 31st, at the NOVA Medical School, experts from various fields gathered for a constructive and multidisciplinary dialogue on the theme “Longevity and quality of life: emerging challenges”.
